01 · Background

Films on the players and stories mainstream coverage ignores.

Nonstop is a basketball documentary channel on YouTube, grown from nothing into a catalogue of 20 to 30 minute films.

The goal was a library that kept earning views for years, not a feed that burns out in a week.

02 · Challenge

A template format that was not holding retention.

The existing videos followed a template-driven format that was not holding retention well enough. The content was not compelling audiences to watch through, which limited both algorithmic reach and the ability to attract brand partners.

03 · What we did

Four moves.

01Rebuilt the storytellingWe rebuilt the approach to storytelling from the ground up, with deep narrative structure in every film.
02Openings and calls to actionStronger cold opens and better calls to action throughout each video.
03Tested against retentionEvery video was tested and refined against retention data.
04Clipped for socialShort form clips were distributed on social, driving millions more views back to the channel.
04 · Results

676 million long form views, and the brands came to them.

676 million long form views, 70.6 million watch time hours and 1.2 million subscribers. The channel secured major sponsorships with HelloFresh, Polymarket, DraftKings and SeatGeek, and the short form clips went viral across platforms, feeding audiences back into the long form.
